3. De Crepusculo

CONCEIÇÃO - 2

São 17:43, estou na igreja N. S. Imaculada da Conceição, a missa está tranquila, os fieis estão rezando, ora em pé, ora sentados, estamos caminhando pra hora da consagração, o padre pega o cálice e a hóstia, está se comungando, e, na igreja um silêncio sepulcral toma conta de tudo, eu estou perto do altar, o sacerdote parece-me pálido, após tomar o vinho, meu Deus, está cambaleando e caindo, o susto está sendo geral na igreja, dois homens, Congregados Marianos correm para ajudá-lo, alguém no meio das Filhas de Maria, está gritando, ‘Chamem o médico, chamem o médico!’. E assim, como num passe de mágica, estou vendo o médico chegar muito apressado, pela porta lateral, ‘Saiam todos de perto dele, ele precisa de ar!’, suplica o doutor. Todos neste momento estão em volta do padre moribundo e do médico, ‘Ele tomou vinho envenenado, porém pouco, digo isto porque a estricnina se concentrou no fundo do cálice, ele vai ficar bem!’, diagnosticou o médico, agora o padre está se levantando, muito pálido ainda, com a ajuda de dois homens, quanto aos fieis, começam a sair, um por um, do templo, em silêncio, e o sacerdote já está em pé, sozinho, mas sendo acompanhado pelo doutor até a casa paroquial. Pois é, este fato aconteceu realmente, no início do século 20, em Conceição da Boa Vista, Minas Gerais, e eu o presenciei, através da máquina do tempo, propiciada pelo momento crepuscular. [ss]
